Featuring first-voice stories of discrimination and hope, 'You Racist, Sexist, Bigot' was conceived and filmed in Arizona but tells truly - and sadly - American stories. From the story of a young black male raised in Ferguson, MO, to the account of an undocumented transgender woman living and working in a state where immigrant rights is more than just a headline, each writer shares an intimate, powerful message of their understanding of the bigotry they face daily. With an original soundtrack which speaks of love, justice, and the need for family and community, 'You Racist, Sexist, Bigot' follows the struggles that occur every day not just in Arizona but in neighborhoods and cities all across the United States

As humans we all have opinions. Some are inherited by our culture and our family, some are learned throughout time, and some are forced due to reality of this unstable and ever changing world. Discrimination is rooted in everything we do and see. This film shares a rainbow of human discrimination, in order to allow our communities to see without walls and to hopefully chop away at the hate that has been created from discrimination.

"We wanted to make something not to tell people how to think,
not to put our political views on anybody, but to raise consciousness that
discrimination happens every day,"
- Pita Juarez Co -Director

Award-winning filmmakers Pita Juarez and Matty Steinkamp, in collaboration with community members, captured the first-person narratives that comprise much of the film throughout 2016 and 2017. Beginning in 2018, the film was featured at festivals across the world, including the Atlanta Independent Film Festival and the New York Aphrodite Film Festival, where it was celebrated for "Best Feature Documentary," "Best Picture", "Best Original Soundtrack", and "Best Directors." The film traveled throughout 2019, and the filmmakers successfully brought these stories to campuses, theaters, community centers, and churches, culminating with the ACLU Centennial Celebration. Our team of writers and producers actively work to promote unity through compassion and understanding. With more than 25 theatrical screenings this year, we are excited to make these stories accessible to even more people around the world via streaming and on demand.
